14 Cubic Yard Bin from Big Yellow Bins on a driveway in Simcoe County

14 Cubic Yard Bin

12' long × 7' wide × 5' high · Up to 5 tons

Our most popular bin for household cleanups. It holds roughly six pickup-truck loads and still fits on a standard double driveway without blocking the garage.

A 14 yard bin handles

  • A packed two car garage or a full basement cleanout
  • One kitchen or two bathrooms torn out to the studs
  • A single storey roof tear off, roughly 20 squares of shingles
  • Old furniture, carpet, boxes and general household junk

20 Cubic Yard Bin from Big Yellow Bins on a driveway in Simcoe County

20 Cubic Yard Bin

13' long × 8' wide × 6' high · Up to 5 tons

The workhorse for contractors and big projects. Extra height and length mean fewer swap-outs, less downtime and one clear price for the whole job.

A 20 yard bin handles

  • A full house cleanout or an estate clearing
  • Main floor renovations with flooring, drywall and cabinetry
  • New build framing offcuts, siding and site waste
  • Large deck tear downs, brush piles and property cleanups

Weight & Timing

Heavy Loads And Same Day Drop Off

The two things people call and ask about most, answered before you pick up the phone.

Five tons is included

Both bins come with up to five tons of weight built into the flat rate. Most household and renovation loads land well under that.

Heavy material rules

Soil, concrete, brick, shingles and asphalt are heavy. For those loads we ask for a level fill so the truck stays legal on the road, and we tell you up front before we drop.

Same day when we can

Call before noon and there is a good chance we can get a bin to you the same day. Otherwise next day drop off is the standard, not an upgrade.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What size bin do I need for a garage or basement cleanout?+

The 14 yard bin is the right call for almost every garage, basement or estate cleanout. It holds around six pickup truck loads, which covers furniture, boxes, old appliances and general junk from a typical home.

What is the difference between a 14 yard and a 20 yard bin?+

The 20 yard bin is a foot longer, a foot wider and a foot taller, so it holds roughly nine pickup truck loads instead of six. Both carry up to five tons and both have the walk in rear door. Pick the 20 yard when you would otherwise need two smaller bins.

How much driveway space does a bin need?+

Plan on about 22 feet of clear length for the 14 yard and 25 feet for the 20 yard, plus room overhead for the truck to lift. Our drivers place boards under the bin so your driveway is protected.

Can I get a bin the same day I call?+

Often yes. Call the Barrie office before noon and if a truck is free in your area we will get you on the route that day. If the day is full we book you first thing the next morning.

How long can I keep the bin?+

Standard rentals cover you for the length of the job. If the project runs long, call us and we will extend it. If you finish early, call and we will pick it up early at no penalty.

What can I not put in the bin?+

No paint, chemicals, propane tanks, tires, batteries, fridges with refrigerant, or anything flammable. If you are unsure about an item, call us and we will tell you straight away.
